I have a new Roku 2. Just recently I have picked up watching a series on Prime and the subtitles barely work for me at all.. Though the Amazon Prime Video app does not come pre-loaded on a Roku device, it can be downloaded and accessed in a few minutes. Note that Roku refers to apps as channels, so don't get confused by the terminology.

I also have white text with transparent background which makes it hard to read. All other roku channels caption fine with the black backgroun and I have tried to force all settings on roku amazon channel as well as the amazon prime website which actually shows black background.
